Plugin installation

Install the FCA Farm 3ds Max plugin, connect it to your account and check that it works.

Requirements

  • 3ds Max 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 on Windows
  • A scene set up with Corona (V-Ray is not supported at the moment)
  • An fcafarm.com account

1. Download the installer

Current version 0.1.41: install-0.1.41.ms

2. Run it in 3ds Max

  1. Open Scripting → Run Script… from the top menu.
  2. Pick the install-0.1.41.ms file you downloaded.
  3. Installation finishes on its own; the sign-in window opens first, then the Render Cloud panel. No need to restart Max.
Use Run Script rather than drag and drop; it's more reliable.

The next time you start Max, FCA Farm appears in the top menu; open the panel with FCA Farm → FCA Render Cloud.

3. Sign in

If you signed up with email and password

Enter the email and password you use on the website in the plugin's sign-in screen.

If you signed up with Google

  1. Open the 3ds Max plugin page in your dashboard.
  2. Name the device (e.g. Office PC) and press New token.
  3. The token is shown only once; copy it, paste it into the plugin's Token field and sign in.

Use a separate token for each computer. The same page lists your devices and when they were last used; revoke them one by one or all at once when you change computers or suspect a token has leaked.

4. Version note

The farm machines run 3ds Max 2025. 2026 scenes are converted to the 2025 format automatically when you send them. If the scene uses OpenPBR materials, which 2025 doesn't have, the plugin warns you. 2027 isn't supported yet; the plugin asks you to save the scene in the 2026 or 2025 format.

Having trouble?

  • FCA Farm doesn't appear in the menu: close and reopen 3ds Max; the menu is built at start-up. If it's still missing, run the installer again with Run Script.
  • Password not accepted: if you signed up with Google you don't have a password; use the token method above.
  • Still stuck? Open a support ticket from your dashboard with your plugin and 3ds Max versions.
