Quick start

Send your first render in a few minutes.

1. Create an account

Create a free account with email and password or with your Google account. If a welcome credit campaign is running, it's added to your account after sign-up (once per person and device).

2. Install the plugin

  1. Download the installer: install-0.1.41.ms
  2. In 3ds Max, open Scripting → Run Script… and pick the file you downloaded.
  3. Installation finishes on its own; the sign-in window opens first, then the panel. No need to restart Max.

The next time you start Max, open the panel from FCA Farm → FCA Render Cloud. Details: Plugin installation.

3. Sign in

  • Signed up with email and password: enter the same details in the plugin's sign-in screen.
  • Signed up with Google: you don't have a password. Create a token for this computer on the 3ds Max plugin page of your dashboard and paste it into the plugin's Token field.

4. Send the scene

  1. Prepare your scene: camera and resolution (up to 8K).
  2. In Render Setup, set Time Output to Single. The farm renders single frames for now; animation support is coming.
  3. In Corona settings, set at least one of the Pass, Noise or Time limits; unlimited renders can't be sent.
  4. In the Render Cloud panel, pick the camera and output format (JPG or transparent PNG), check the estimated cost and press Send.
Don't use the panel's Distributed rendering option for now: the farm temporarily doesn't support it.
Scenes from 3ds Max 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 are accepted. 2026 scenes are converted to the 2025 format automatically when you send them. The farm renders with Corona 14.

5. Watch and download

Follow progress live on the Render jobs page. When it's done, your output and render elements are ready to download there, and you get an email.

Tips

  • Start with a simple scene the first time; it's enough to learn the flow.
  • Using LightMix? Render once locally before sending and check your light groups.
  • You don't need to set an output path in Render Setup; the plugin uses its own folder on the farm.
